Job Summary

You will serve as a Senior Project Manager for NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as a Fire Protection Engineer (0804), Architect (0808), Civil Engineer (0810), Mechanical Engineer (0830), or Electrical Engineer (0850). This position is eligible for full time telework. Your pay will depend on your geographic location.

Major Duties

  • You will coordinate and direct the work of others in timely execution of project development, design, and construction.
  • You will render technical decisions/recommendations on situations, questions, and/or problems with scheduling, funding, project coordination, and contract negotiations, which could affect project execution.
  • You will track progress of facility design to ensure execution remains within scope, budget, and on schedule.
  • You will review plans and specifications to ensure scope of work conforms with financial authorization.
  • You will work with others to resolve difficult project issues.
  • You will coordinate solutions involving project disciplines due to design errors, unforeseen conditions, envrironmental requirements, planning requirements, and/or change in criteria.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0804, 0810, 0830, or 0850 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Selective Placement Factor for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading project teams with responsibility to coordinate and manage scope, schedule, and budget for facilities design and construction;

2) Coordinating all phases of facilities design and construction independently within constraints and stakeholder requirements;

3) Independently facilitating sensitive stakeholder discussions and resolution of complex problem exercising sound judgement;

4) Independently developing, monitoring, and controlling schedules in coordination with stakeholders requirements and commitments;

5) Tracking and reporting project status using enterprise project management software tools, scheduled reports and briefings, and unscheduled data calls; and

6) Coordinating the development and implementation of project acquisition plans in alignment with enterprise goals, legal constraints and best practices. $102,104.00 - $132,739.00
