Job Summary

Major Duties
- You will review engineering plans and specifications to ensure constructability and contractibility, compliance with applicable laws, availability of specified materials, and make recommendations for changes prior to award or finalization of design.
- You will review final construction project completion to determine if project scope requirements have been met.
- You will oversee contracted design and construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications, safety standards and programs, and requirements for documentation of records and drawings.
- You will participate in discussions with contractor representatives on matters of safety, installation regulations, utility outage coordination, progress of work, or needs of the tenant with respect to work under construction
- You will serve as a spokesperson for an organization to provide project information to others.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico.
NOTE: If you meet this requirement you MUST provide a copy of your PE OR RA registration with your application package. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) providing construction engineering support for capital improvement projects and facilities major renovations; 2) performing technical and administrative oversight of construction contracts from conception through close-out, to include scope, schedule and cost; 3) monitoring construction contractor quality and safety programs via available data and metrics and by conducting site visits; 4) providing recommendations for resolving project problems due to design errors, unforeseen conditions, or changes in criteria; 5) preparing and presenting briefs related to scopes of work, design reviews, contract negotiations, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management websites:

Pay Range
$99,941.00 - $129,926.00
