Job Summary
You will serve as a CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER in the CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as a Fire Protection Engineer (0804), Architect (0808), Civil Engineer (0810), Mechanical Engineer (0830), or Electrical Engineer (0850).
Major Duties
- You will provide assistance and technical guidance to other engineers/architects or other NAVFAC business/support lines or functional areas, exercising management and administrative skills in leading the execution of projects.
- You will manage complex and challenging construction projects in various geographic locations in support of Navy, Marine Corps, or other agency clients with critical, time-sensitive missions and functions.
- You will manage safety review of activity hazard analyses, review and acceptance of accident prevention plans, review and acceptance of critical lift plans, and ensuring contractor compliance with applicable safety requirements.
- You will make site investigation trips to project sites to collect pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by investigation of existing conditions and through meetings with sponsored activities.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) identifying the need for a modification to scope, cost, and/or schedule based upon collaboration with the contractor, supported command, designer, or other entities; 2) enforcing all technical and administrative provisions of assigned construction contracts; 3) providing technical solutions for unforeseen problems during construction; 4) managing construction projects in support of clients with critical, time-sensitive missions and requirements; and 5) ensuring communication between construction manager, contract specialists, the contractor, the project technical team, the client, and others as appropriate for construction projects.**NOTE** This experience must be fully supported by the information in your resume. Pay Range
$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
