Job Summary

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY NATURAL RESOURCE SPECIALIST/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS LINE of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Major Duties

  • You will manage the spills program and oversee permits and compliance plans associated with air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste regulations and permits to ensure installation environmental compliance.
  • You will resolve technical problems related to spills prevention and response, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste projects.
  • You will support data calls from CNIC, NAVFAC and regulators.
  • You will program requirements for execution to maintain compliance with installation spills compliance, and support air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste requirements.
  • You will coordinate EV project execution with Regional EV execution teams

Qualifications

FOR GS-09: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Assisting in the management and support of environmental programs associated with clean water (industrial or sanitary wastewater), hazardous waste or petroleum storage; 2) Assisting in the environmental regulation review of projects and proposed actions and plans for compliance with existing and proposed environmental permits pertinent to air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste; 3) Assisting in the preparation of program guidelines, point papers, scopes of work, and cost estimates to maintain compliance with installation air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste requirements; and 4) Assisting in the development of implementation of Environmental Management Systems and compliance audits. A master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR:

2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

OR:

Have a combination of graduate education and experience which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the requirement. FOR GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Managing permits and compliance plans associated with air, drinking water wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste regulations and permits to ensure installation environmental compliance; 2) Reviewing construction projects, plans and designs for compliance with installation air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste permits and environmental regulations; 3) Serving as a subject matter expert on environmental laws and regulations pertinent to air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste and installation permits; 4) Resolving technical problems related to air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste projects; 5) Programming requirements for execution to maintain compliance with installation air, drinking water, wastewater, storm water, storage tanks, and hazardous waste requirements; 6) Coordinating EV project execution with Regional EV execution teams. Have a PhD degree in a related field

OR;

Have completed three years of graduate education leading to a PhD degree in a related field

OR:

Pay Range

$59,534.00 - $77,396.00
