Job Summary

You will serve as a Interdisciplinary State Coordinator for the Navy/DoD Chesapeake Bay Program in the Regional Environmental Coordination Department of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as an Environmental Engineer (0819) or Physical Scientist (1301) or Natural Resource Specialist (0401).

Major Duties

  • You will provide technical expertise in environmental issues, policies, and regulations to promote compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • You will interact with internal and external customers for project execution.
  • You will collaborate with others outside and inside of the organization to resolve technical problems or concerns.

Qualifications

This position has a Selective Placement Factor for those applying for the GS-0819, Professional Environmental Engineering Series that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

In addition to the Basic Requirement and Selective Placement Factor (if applying for the 0819 series), your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Provides significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs or methods while interfacing with various members of DoD personnel; 2) Provides coordination/communication across military installations in their assigned state(s) to assist with meeting the DoD goals/objectives and compliance; 3) Serves as coordinator for a large DoD program; 4) Seeks funding for critical initiatives through the chain of command; and 5) Develops and implements innovative projects designed to restore the environment and demonstrate commitment. Pay Range

$91,671.00 - $119,176.00
