Job Summary

The position works under the management of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Kansas City District, Project Management Division serving as a Project Manager in the Environmental Branch. This position is being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions in accordance with 10 USC § 1705(g).

Major Duties

  • Implement decisions, guidance, laws, regulations and policies of the Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste program and Kansas City District, as applicable, during project execution.
  • Coordinate and facilitate planning, design, cost engineering, construction, environmental considerations, and acquisition regulations for engineering projects
  • Manage project milestones and budgets from planning through investigation, design, construction and operations with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Forecast schedule, budget, or quality problems and ensures proper resolution of issues raised.
  • Represent District Commander, acting as the District's primary point of contact with customers, Federal, state and local government, Congressional interests, and other higher authorities.
  • Communicate project status and issues with internal team members, external stakeholders, and management through correspondence, meetings and official briefings.

In addition to possessing one of degree requirements listed above applicants must also meet the qualification criteria listed below. GS-11 To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience to perform assignments that involve initiating, formulating, and planning, as well as executing and designing major environmental studies, and specialized environmental projects; use findings of specialized studies, new analytical developments, and modified processes to resolve novel, obscure, or highly controversial problems that affect the environmental program area. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

with a major study in engineering, architecture, construction engineering, engineering technology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-12 To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience to perform assignments that involve initiating, formulating, and planning, as well as executing and designing major environmental studies, and specialized environmental projects; use findings of specialized studies, new analytical developments, and modified processes to resolve novel, obscure, or highly controversial problems that affect the environmental program area. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). There is NO education substitute for experience at the GS-12 level

Pay Range

$62,737.00 - $97,757.00
