Job Summary

You will serve as a Interdisciplinary Instructor in the Environmental and Emergency Department of NAVSAFENVTRNGCTR.

Major Duties

  • You will serve as an instructor and scientific subject matter expert (SME) with responsibility for teaching occupational health and environmental related subjects to Navy and Marine Corps personnel.
  • You will conduct professional classroom training in a wide range of subjects related to scientific application of industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and environmental protection.
  • You will communicate expertise and ideas to participants in resident and online classrooms.
  • You will maintain current knowledge in government and private organizations through methods such as contact, liaison, and participation.
  • You will act as a technical contracting officer representative (COR) or alternate (ACOR) for safety, health and environmental contracts.

Qualifications

GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Revising and presenting instructional materials for safety, health, and/or environmental courses in accordance with specified learning objectives, goals or outcomes; 2) Providing assistance in the design of industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and/or environmental protection standards; and 3) Demonstrating the use of health monitoring and testing techniques and instruments. GS-12: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Formulating and developing course training materials in reference to industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and/or environmental protection; 2) Providing technical advice and leadership in the design of industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and/or environmental protection standards; and 3) demonstrating the use of health monitoring and testing techniques and instruments in classroom settings. Pay Range

$64,318.00 - $100,223.00
