Job Summary
Members of the planning team are professionals in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with expertise in water resources planning. This position serves as the Planning Team Leader, inclusive of plan formulation, economics, and planning policy and also serves as the senior expert for Civil Works water and related land resource projects within the regional area of a large USACE Engineering Division.
Major Duties
- Serves as technical adviser in providing navigation improvements for commerce and national security needs to execute the coastal and inland navigation mission within the Northwestern Division.
- Develops policy, strategic objectives, and performance metrics and manages execution to facilitate compliance and enable delivery of the mission.
- Provides oversight for the navigation business line for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of civil works projects.
- Develops and promulgates implementation guidance for navigation, floating plant, dredging, channel management, and environmental compliance activities.
- Provides risk assessment and reliability analysis of marine transportation infrastructures on economic, engineering, and environmental challenges of the dredging program to achieve efficient operations and maintenance of systems.
- Reviews decision documents or reports to address all underlying navigation, dredging, inland and coastal, engineering, and environmental conditions and makes recommendations to implement resolution.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes formulating and executing comprehensive civil works and multi-interdisciplinary strategies and initiatives regarding water resources, navigation, and dredging functions. Specialized experience also includes providing advice on regulatory, procedural, and requirements of navigation programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Pay Range
$115,050.00 - $149,562.00
