Job Summary

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 12.62% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time. This announcement uses a Direct Hiring Authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Major Duties

  • You will serve as an experienced and independent engineer/architect in the field of construction engineering and management.
  • You will provide assistance and technical guidance to other engineers/architects, or other NAVFAC business/support lines or functional areas as appropriate, exercising management and administrative skills in the execution of projects.
  • You will manage priorities and provide technical recommendations/solutions to complex problems encountered during the administration of the construction contracts.
  • You will be up to date on NAVFAC safety requirements, as well as applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations as it pertains to the construction effort.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing the following duties: 1) Prepare, review and manage design documents for construction, repair, and improvement of federal facilities; 2) Enforce all technical (e.g., civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, etc.) and administrative provisions of assigned construction contracts; 3) Develop creative, technically sound solutions and documentation for problems not remedied by standard, predefined processes; and 4) Utilize computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, electronic mail, internet, and database software) in order to review shop drawings, product data, samples, design data, etc. in a timely manner. Pay Range

$78,927.00 - $106,359.00
