Job Summary
You will serve as a Manager in the Automation & Dynamics Branch or Unmanned Systems Tech Branch of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION. You will be responsible for oversight/execution of technology developments in hydrodynamic modeling/simulation of platforms/vehicles; unmanned systems/robotics technology; automation, including models and simulations to support advanced maritime autonomous system capabilities; or systems engineering/integration for unmanned systems.
Major Duties
- You will supervise and guide the work and careers of technical professionals, including recruiting, hiring, setting work objectives, reviewing performance, mentoring, and providing career guidance.
- You will oversee a complex technical organization to include: (a) strategic planning and development of strategic vision, (b) oversight of program development, planning, and execution; and (c) resource management.
- You will interact with project engineers and sponsors using knowledge of the funds procurement process to identify and address current project need related to Mine Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, or Naval Special Warfare needs.
- You will work with the division head, division staff, department head, and department staff to establish, communicate, and implement strategic goals and ensure activities are aligned with division and department objectives.
- You will lead a branch providing vision, direction, and focus as well as perform the full range of supervisory duties, including the fulfillment of EEO duties and responsibilities.
- You will identify gaps in Navy needs and interact with sponsors, primarily the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to develop Science and Technology proposals.
- You will display effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, including developing/delivering presentations to management, sponsors and distinguished visitors as well as documentation of technical work.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band (ND-04 or GS/12/13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience leading teams in the development of projects related to unmanned systems, automation, or dynamics technologies. Examples of experience include: advising as a subject matter expert (SME) related to hydrodynamic modeling/simulation of platforms/vehicles; managing technical program related to unmanned systems/robotics technology; leading a team in automation that includes the development, adaptation and implementation of models and simulations to support advanced maritime autonomous system capabilities; or advising others as SME regarding systems engineering and integration for unmanned systems. Pay Range
$91,231.00 - $164,858.00
