Job Summary

You will serve as a Natural Resources Specialist withNAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties

  • You will assist wildlife biologists with field work pertaining to wildlife management to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • You will serve as a natural and cultural resources representative for an organization during inter-agency consultations.
  • You will apprise managers on conservation program matters (e.g., issues with current practices, policies, regulatory compliance) that have departmental or organizational implications.
  • You will collaborate with scientific and technical peers to exchange ideas, information, and data needed for designing experiments, data manipulation, or statistical analyses.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying comprehensive academic, technical, or practical knowledge of natural resources management associated with Department of Navy (DON); 2) Using current knowledge of forestry, soil science, wildlife biology, and marine biology to anticipate ecological consequences of proposed actions; 3) Designing and executing plans that impact various habitats and ecosystems; 4) Advises interdisciplinary teams on matters related to natural resources and endangered species; and 5) Develops and presents technical information related to natural resources to various audiences. Pay Range

$98,773.00 - $128,402.00
