Major Duties
The incumbent serves as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Project Manager within the Construction and Design section. The NEPA Project Manager’s role is to manage and actively participate in the NEPA process by establishing a team, representing all necessary elements, to help plan and prepare NEPA Documents, develop a range of treatment measures that avoid, lesson or mitigate impacts; and oversee or implement the selected treatments.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience performing, leading, or overseeing work in an environmental and natural resource field, specifically applying the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to evaluate baseline environmental conditions; review project plans and designs; predict and analyze the effects of proposed actions on the environment; identify mitigation techniques and alternatives; and design environmental studies and investigations.
Examples: Conducting environmental/biological analyses; working with the US Fish and Wildlife in fulfilling Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act;
Identifying data gaps and analytical inconsistencies in and ensuring overall quality of environmental documents;
Identifying impacts on plant and wildlife resources and providing suggestions for avoidance and/or mitigation. Ability to effectively communicate technical information with all levels and types of organizations and audiences, both orally and in writing, through preparation and updating of websites, documents and reports for regulatory and public use, and making presentations at conferences and meetings.
Knowledge of various technical disciplines such as general science, mathematics, chemistry, biology, archaeology, and land use. "Experience" refers to paidandunpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$79,480.00 - $103,328.00
