Job Summary
This position is an Operations Project Manager GS-0401-13 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Tulsa Operations Division, located in Sawyer, Oklahoma. For additional information on USACE Tulsa District click HERE. This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Certain Competitive Service Positions under 5 USC § 9905.
Major Duties
- Serve as the Operations Project Manager for several lakes within the Tulsa District.
- Resolve problems such as high visitation causing problems in area overuse, flood control activities, natural resource management, shoreline management and conflicts between public and private interests.
- Oversee the operation of numerous civil works water resources projects.
- Ensure that all expenditures are within the approved budget.
- Review plans for site location and construction of all buildings and facilities proposed by others on Government land.
- Establish performance standards and makes evaluations for directly supervised subordinate positions.
- Responsible for the management and conservation of all natural resources on thousands acres of public land and water.
- Responsible for developing plans, budgeting for and directing all range, fish, and wildlife management.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing work priorities, budget requirements and goals related to natural resources management, and responsible for execution of the same AND 2) Managing the maintenance for park recreation grounds, shorelines, project and flood risk management structures and facilities, and uncontrolled and controlled spillways AND 3) Leading or supervising a team of employees. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Pay Range
$91,231.00 - $118,603.00
