MajorDuties

  • Conduct inspections of Installation facilities and operations, to ensure compliance with Federal, State, DOD, Army and local Environmental Laws and Regulations.
  • Coordinate issues pertaining to Environmental Compliance/Remediation actions.
  • Manage the Fort Detrick and Forest Glenn Annex Internal Environmental Audit Program.
  • Plan, Organize and administer supporting functions for the Environmental Program Quality Control Committee (EOCC).

Qualifications

US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements: A.Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

OR

B.Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to the Basic requirements applicant must also meet one of the following:

Minimum Qualifications: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Conducting Environmental inspections of facilities and operations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, (2) Planning and organizing committee meetings to include establishing agenda topics and coordinating presentations, (3) Monitoring environmental training requirements to active military/civilians/contractors who provide supplies or services to an installation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR A combination of education and experience described above. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Pay Range

$69,581.00 - $90,461.00
