Job Summary
You will serve as a Physical Scientist in the Hydrographic Project Support Branch, Data Management Division, Hydrographic Department Naval Oceanographic Office of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Major Duties
- You will serve as a Dive Supervisor for all NAVOCEANO dive operations.
- You will review the technical soundness, operational adequacy, and completeness of scientific data.
- You will prepare geodetic and tide planning documents.
- You will obtain funding for support of the NAVOCEANO dive locker and monitors the expenditure of those funds.
- You will ensure all NAVOCEANO divers are qualified to dive in accordance with Navy standards.
- You will handle logistics for all ellipsoid reference survey equipment in the custody the branch.
- You will serve as 3M Work Center Supervisor in accordance with NAVOCEANOINST 4790.1H.
- You will prepare, update, and manage standard operating procedures.
- You will prepare official agreements between the NAVAL OCEANOGRAPHIC OFFICE and other commands that require regular dive support.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience whit all diving rules and regulations. Experience with the NOVACEANO budget rules and regulation. Experience applying theories, principles, and techniques of scientific and technical fields such as cartography, astronomy, geodesy, bathymetry, oceanography, hydrography, etc. Experience in bathymetric/hydrographic surveying standards, techniques, and equipment. Reviews the technical soundness, operational adequacy, and completeness of scientific data. Pay Range
$88,704.00 - $115,313.00
