Job Summary
You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST (ENVIRONMENTAL) with NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Major Duties
- You will serve as a senior environmental scientist with responsibility for the quality and performance of work of others delivering a wide variety of products and services to naval activities within the geographic area.
- You will provide team coaching and mentoring to others while monitoring performance.
- You will provide others with technical direction on a wide range of challenging environmental related issues.
- You will review schedules, cost estimates, and strategies developed by team members to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
- You will provide briefings, point papers, or other information to Commanding Officers, Public Works Officers, major claimants, and other federal, state, or local jurisdictions.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading others in delivering products and services for various environmental media (i.e., storm water, wastewater, potable water, lead paint, and asbestos); 2) Applying innovative theories and state of the art methods to solve problems for environmental media; 3) Ensuring environmental projects adhere to established facilities and systems acquisition processes; and 4) Communicating with a wide variety of contacts in order to clarify, interpret, and advise on environmental laws, regulations, policies, and guidance. Pay Range
$98,773.00 - $128,402.00
