Job Summary

This position is located with the U.S. Army Research and Development Center (ERDC), Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, Office of Technical Directors. This announcement is for a Supervisory Interdisciplinary position filled as a Research General Engineer 0801, Research Civil Engineer 0810, Research Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) 0810, Research Naval Architect 0871, Research Architect 0808, Research Physical Scientist 1301, Research Physicist 1310, or Research Oceanographer 1360.

Major Duties

  • Serve as the Technical Director of Military Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering at the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC).
  • Utilize expert technical knowledge and skills in hydrology, river and estuarine engineering, coastal engineering, and maritime operations to support military operations as well as the overall development of the entire Military Engineering program.
  • Execute keen business skills to manage and direct complex technical programs from planning and marketing to execution and transition to develop Military Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering technologies.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical and professional competence to continually develop new technology and research exercising the highest level of technical review within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DB-04 (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DB-XXX-05 (equivalent to GS-15). In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, an employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume. Pay Range

$126,810.00 - $164,858.00
