Job Summary
This Senior Scientist, NH-0401-04 position is located in Medical Countermeasure Systems Joint Project Management Office at Fort Detrick, MD This position is being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions in accordance with 10 USC § 1705(g).
Major Duties
- The Senior Scientist serves as the principal authority to one of the five subordinate Joint Product Management Offices (JPdMO) under the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD).
- Advise the JPdMO team on the planning, execution and interpretation of studies, and ensures sufficient documentation exists for well-informed management decisions.
- Reviews and provides input to appropriate program, acquisition, and contracting documents.
- Attends scientific/technical conferences, DoD conferences and meetings, providing briefings on JPdMO mission/accomplishments as required.
- Review projects and proposals and defend recommendations.
- Represent JPDMO on assigned Integrated Product and Project Teams, Working Groups, and technical review and evaluation panels.

Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Providing technical oversight in a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats to improve system operations; (2) preparing written analysis to support material selection decisions; and (3) developing and implementing test designs to assess performance data, and develop solutions for technical problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 (GS-13). Pay Range
$117,191.00 - $166,500.00
