Job Summary

This position is located in National Mall and Memorial Parks, in the Professional Services Division. providing assistance to project teams for architecture and engineering projects. Position is from May 2020- August 2020 Temporary appointment not-to-exceed one year but m­ay be extended each year without further competition, if you continue to meet the eligibility requirements under the Pathways Internship program and funding is available.

Major Duties

Assists in complex presentations.
Researches technical reports/other documents to obtain information.
Assists in the preparation of graphs, charts, or tables.
Applies basic formulas to routine calculations.
Travels to park sites to collect data and samples, take measurements and photographs, conduct surveys, attend meetings, inspect facilities and/or construction activities.
Provides assistance to project teams for architectural and engineering task orders.
Inputs compiled data into FMSS.
Performs cost estimates using CESS.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-02/20/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Have successfully completed 2 full academic year of post-high school study; working towards a degree in cartography and/or directly related science, and related mathematics. Such course work includes, but is not limited to, cartography, astronomy, geodesy, photogrammetry, physical and geological oceanography, computer science, land surveying, geophysics, physical geography, and remote sensing. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount qualified specialized experience. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Pay Range

$35,119.00 - $45,652.00
