The position will support research and development within the Applied Physics Division at NIST, which has a wide ranging research portfolio including laser radiometry, quantum optics, frequency combs, spectroscopy, magnetic resonance imaging, integrated photonics, semiconductor physics, precision imaging, and biological imaging. The duties will include laboratory work, data acquisition and analysis support, and possible field experiments.

Several openings are available in physics, biology and engineering within different research groups of the division. These openings are targeted toward a summer internship, with possible continuation part time during the school year if the candidate is local. Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Applicants must be currently pursuing a degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that includes 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

Pay Range

$24,845.00 - $55,983.00
