Job Summary
You will serve as a Community Planner/Engineer/Architect in the Asset Management Business Line of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Major Duties
- You will develop, coordinate, and review facility requirement documents for accuracy per the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- You will direct planning efforts (e.g., workload strategies, acquisition strategy) for facilities product line.
- You will lead other planners in providing facilities planning and engineering services to clients.
- You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams on project management directives for successful project execution within construction standards.
- You will recommend solutions to planning related technical problems when guidelines are unclear.
- You will resolve complex issues and problems in the areas of architecture, engineering, master planning, systems integration, and scheduling to accomplish project within the specific timeframe.
- You will engage in planning and master planning studies to resolve specific facilities and land use development.
- You will compose technical reports for management providing updates on the status of master plans.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Utilizing planning principles, practices, and techniques to develop public or federal facilities planning documents; 2) Analyzing engineering, management, and economic data to develop alternatives and identify benefits and liabilities for facilities planning; and 3) Advising others on organizational facilities planning policies and guidance. Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess for the 0020 series: Successfully completed a community planning degree, or a degree in a related discipline such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.

I have a combination of education and experience where I have successfully completed a community planning degree, or a degree in a related discipline such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration and have one (1) year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner.
OR
I have a combination of education and experience where my courses were equivalent to a major in community planning , urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration; or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the listed disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$98,198.00 - $127,654.00
