Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY COMMUNITY PLANNER/NATURAL RESOURCE SPECIALIST/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the NEPA OPERATIONS AND RANGE SUSTAINMENT SECTION (EV22) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
Major Duties
- You will prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation (e.g., Environmental Assessments [EA], Environmental Impact Statements [EIS]) to comply with laws and regulations.
- You will assess contractor performance to verify work or services performed are in compliance with environmental program regulations.
- You will develop plans to improve team capabilities and identify training needs to ensure team members have the tools to be productive.
- You will direct a multi-disciplinary scientific team in a field of environmental management.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0819 series. Your license must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Working with principal environmental legislation and DoD policy related to environmental and range sustainment policy including, but not limited to: National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA), Clean Air Act (CAA), and other environmental laws and DoD policies and programs related to range sustainment; 2) Managing Architect/Engineering (A/E) contracts; 3) Providing advice and counsel to various commands on complex operational and infrastructure NEPA and range sustainment issues; 4) Leading/Supervising and coordinating complex environmental and range sustainment projects with a multi-disciplinary staff; 5) Communicating on an executive level both orally and in writing. Pay Range
$91,671.00 - $119,176.00
