Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Weapon Sustainment Section (JXNMS) within the Weapons Systems Division (JXN) of the Special Warfare and Expeditionary Systems Department (JX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The ND-04 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade levels.

Major Duties

  • You will provide engineering design, process review, and validate prototype design to support division efforts through manufacturing.
  • You will review current processes to identify any deficiencies with current NSWC Crane instructions and hazard controls.
  • You will review and update the Service Cost Center (SCC) menu for following years to account for projected workload increase or decrease and other maintenance expenses.
  • You will determine the most effective ways to increase workload associated with prototyping, testing, and research and development for weapon systems integration and fielding.
  • You will provide full supervisory oversight to the employees within the section to include technicians and logistics management specialists.
  • You will approve leave, recommend discipline, awards, promotions and other personnel actions.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-09/11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist performing testing, prototyping, or research and development in support of weapon systems projects. Pay Range

$62,236.00 - $115,313.00
