Job Summary
Serves as a Supervisory Environmental Engineer with the Division of Sanitation Facilities Construction in Winslow, Arizona.
Major Duties

- Plans, designs, reviews and constructs complex and difficult water, sewer and solid waste projects.
- Makes engineering determinations concerning contract awards or other aspects of design andm construction work.
- Reviews and approves plans prepared by those consulting engineers for technical accuracy and functional capability.
- Initiates and outlines special technical studies by district staff and other Federal, State, Tribal and contractors to develop guidelines and special solutions.
- Oversees the work and provides administrative direction and technical assistance.
- Assigns work based on priorities.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): All applicants must meet one of the following Basic Requirements:
A. Degree: Professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) Be in a school of engineering with at least on curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) Include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR
B. Combination of education and experience - college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) A thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (1) Professional Registration; or (2) Written Test (Engineer-in-Training); or (3) Specified Academic Courses; or (4) Related Curriculum.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. "The type of experience which will be credited are: professional knowledge of theories, principles, practices and techniques of Engineering. This experience would have to include preparing program budgets, providing advice and guidance on program activities to a variety of individuals and preparing complex technical reports."
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
Pay Range
$64,009.00 - $83,210.00
