Job Summary

Serves as Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist performing a full range of duties, required to ensure Installation wide compliance with environmental laws and regulations issued by Federal, State, and Local Governments.

Major Duties

  • Enact measures to ensure compliance with laws/regulations, Executive Orders, and policies regarding environmental program management.
  • Prepares and submits environmental reports to the Regional Office and higher Headquarters.
  • Plans, distributes, coordinates, and monitors work assignments of others/staff.
  • Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for environmental support contracts for the installation.
  • Prepares or oversees preparation of contract request packages, Service Contract Requests, contract Performance Work Statements, independent government estimates and other contract support documents for submission to procurement.
  • Evaluates staff work performance and provides feedback to others on their performance.
  • Ensures that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed.
  • Interprets and implements policy directives or program materials from higher authority or regulatory agencies and assists the Division Chief in establishing plans and programs for installation-wide use.
  • Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively.
  • Makes clear and convincing oral presentations.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) manage environmental programs such as National Environmental Policy Act, Hazardous Waste/Material, Underground and Aboveground Storage Tanks, Installation Environmental Restoration, Solid Waste, Air Pollution/Asbestos, Cultural/Historic Preservation, and Clean Water Act; 2) mentor personnel on work and administrative matters; 3) provide authoritative technical guidance on environmental policy and guidance; 4) submit Federal, State and local environmental regulatory reports; 5) develop and implement projects, long and short term planning, budgets, guidelines and objectives for environmental management programs.

Pay Range

$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
