Major Duties

  • Serves as the DLA Installation Support for Energy Branch Chief for Environmental Restoration Services, incumbent has responsibility for supervision/oversight of a wide variety of site remediation support services which are unique to DLA Energy.
  • Serves as principle advisor on DLA Energy restoration services.
  • Plans, manages, and directs the work of employees providing a full range of services, including activity operations and services encompassing emergency spill response, environmental site investigations, cleanup, and prioritization of cleanup goals.
  • Responsible for providing technical and funding support for cleanup of spills at DLA Energy capitalized Military Service facilities.
  • Manages the entire environmental remediation program for the Defense Fuel Support Points (DFSPs) that are permitted to DLA Energy.
  • Prepares instructions, directives and formulates policy for the effective management of the program, and establishes goals and provides procedural guidance toward the successful implementation of program objectives.
  • Provides supporting programming, planning, and budgeting decisions in conjunction with DLA Installation Support Pacific and DLA Installation Support Europe for all environmental restoration technical and funding support at worldwide DFSP?s.
  • Serves as a Funds Holder.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must

support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to

successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the

GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent

under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements

including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum

qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable

specialized experience includes: Experience applying a variety of environmental protection laws, regulations, principles, and practices applicable to the emergency spill response and remediation for a large organization and/or military command. Experience serving as a principle environmental remediation program advisor and technical consultant to a Director or Commander, as well as organization staff. Experience analyzing project requirements to provide funding or contracts for immediate emergency spill response services. Experience identifying, controlling, and cleaning up pollution caused by spills or releases. Experience conducting environmental cleanups that involve remedial design of the selected remedy, implementing remediation system construction, managing system operation, site closeout as well as risk based assessment review and management. Experience developing budgetary requirements as well as program directives, instructions, and/or policy. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Pay Range

$117,191.00 - $152,352.00
