Job Summary

Reclamation is seeking a career professional with wastewater certifications looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise.LOCATION:Lower Colorado BasinRegion, Facility Services Division, Compliance & Regulatory Office, Water Wastewater Group, Clark County, NV. An incentive may be authorized.

Major Duties

  • Responsible for the supervision and oversight of employees assigned to the Water/Wastewater Group.
  • Executes work planning, establishes work schedules and priorities and assigns and reviews work of assigned staff.
  • Plans, develops, implements, organizes, evaluates and manages the technical program for the water/wastewater group at Hoover Dam.
  • Responsible for interpreting and developing technical, regulatory, and policy guidance pertaining to Dam water/wastewater/lab operations; review of plans, designs, and specifications oversight and management of capital improvements and service contracts; program evaluation and regulatory compliance; and oversight and planning of the regulatory and operational aspects of the hydrologic laboratory and water and wastewater facilities and operations and maintenance program.
  • Utilizes water/wastewater industrial controls system(s) to monitor and control operations and laboratory data storage.
  • Ensures timely reporting and proper format for all compliance sample data and other data relative to Federal Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water Acts, and primacy agency requirements; ensures reporting in accordance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and other permit requirements.
  • Maintains all certifications in good standing with issuing states, to include: water treatment Grade 3 certification and water distribution Grade 2 certification in the State of Nevada; and wastewater treatment Grade 3 certification and wastewater collection Grade 2 certification in the State of Arizona.
  • Through subordinate staff, maintains all regulatory compliance sampling, analysis and data management, and interprets required chemical, physical and microbiological records for multi-year, bi-state facilities.

Qualifications

GS-12: In order to qualify for the GS-12 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-11 in Federal service managing operations and maintenance of a water & wastewater treatment system and preparing and submitting mandatory compliance documentation or reports.

Supervisory Positions: Experience should also demonstrate the ability to provide supervision to Water/Wastewater Group regarding operation and maintenance of thewater/wastewater treatment systems.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Pay Range

$77,865.00 - $101,230.00
