Job Summary
Serves as Chief of Master Planning Division and technical advisor to the DPW and garrison major staff elements on all aspects of the engineering phase of the DPW's responsibilities. Plans, programs, and executes matters pertaining to the Garrison's engineering projects, stationing, contract inspections, facilities engineering environmental matters, and related functions, and manages execution of contracts. Planning is accomplished on a continual 5-year, and 20-year basis.
Major Duties
- Serves as the Installation Master Planner having responsibility for all facets of master planning at US Army Garrison.
- Applies sound professional judgment to solve new problems that are not directly quantifiable, in addition must be able to interpret and apply nonstandard methods, where applicable, and develop alternatives.
- Responsible for the overall management of the installation's Master's Plan.
- Maintains liaison with and represents the installation at on matters relating to area development planning, long- and short-range planning, construction plans, and real property initiatives.
- Supervises a staff of master planners, real property personnel, industrial engineers, and general engineers.

Supervisory Community Planner:
A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a field related to community planning such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration and possess at least one-year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR A combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to a major in one of the disciplines, as shown in A above, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the disciplines, as shown in A above, of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Supervisory General Engineer/Supervisory Industrial Engineer/Supervisory Civil Engineer:
A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering field related to the position. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR A combination of education and experience (Please see Occupational Questionnaire for further details) Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying professional engineer knowledge to 1) prepare necessary resources to correct real property deficiencies; 2) review real property construction projects for accuracy; AND 3) prioritize project construction needs to ensure program requirements are met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Pay Range
$102,663.00 - $133,465.00
