Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY of NAVFAC BAHRAIN. This position may be filled by any of the following series:Community Planner (0020), General Engineer (0801), Architect (0808), Civil Engineer (0810), or Industrial Engineer (0896). The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week). Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized.

Major Duties

  • You will implement engineering, financial and administrative techniques and processes.
  • You will ensure the staff utilizes the established processes and electronic tools to ensure accurate collection of Asset Management metrics.
  • You will coordinate the development of facilities project documentation for assigned installation(s).
  • You will provide leadership, coordination, and oversight to accomplish space management analysis and site approval determination.
  • You will conduct briefings, responds to official inquiries, and acts to obtain needed information or assistance, clearances, and permits needed for project coordination.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801, 0810, or 0896 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license, registration, or certification must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license, registration, or certification with your application package. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provide facility planning to maintain facilities and major systems such as buildings, utilities, roads, piers, and dry docks; 2) Analyze planning, engineering, management, and economic data to resolve problems and formulate appropriate alternatives; 3) Review planning and engineering documents to provide technical advice; and 4) Coordinate the development of facilities project documentation including completion of required real estate and environmental planning, site approvals, and other supporting documentation. The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed. This is a Key/Emergency-Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation of war, the incumbent must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority. In addition, this position requires Anthrax vaccinations. The Anthrax vaccination is a series of 6 shots occurring at 0, 2 and 4 weeks; then at 6, 12 and 18 months, followed by an annual booster as long as you remain in the position. We strongly recommend that you begin the Anthrax series before arriving in Bahrain and provide a shot card or other medical verification upon arrival. If this is not possible, you will be required to report to the Branch Health Clinic to receive these mandatory vaccinations within 15 days of arrival. The Branch Health Clinic will also provide subsequent Anthrax vaccinations (to complete the series) as well as annual boosters. You may be exempted from Anthrax requirements if you provide acceptable medical documentation which provides medical justification for exemption. Pay Range

$78,681.00 - $102,288.00
