Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Community Planner, Supervisory Environmental Engineer, or Supervisory Physical Scientist in the Environmental Business Line of NAVFAC Northwest. This position is a program manager, Product Line Leader, and lead technical expert for the NAVFAC NW Resources and Assessment program within the Environmental Business Line.
Major Duties
- You will supervise, mentor, and direct Resource and Assessment employees in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
- You will represent management on labor issues and work with Unions to improve an understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures.
- You will be responsible for overall program management of the Resources and Assessment of the NAVFAC Northwest Environmental area of responsibility, including sites in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
- You will develop policies for command-wide implementation of new and/or existing laws and regulations pertaining to Environmental Resources and Assessments program and lead implementation of existing and/or new DoD and Navy policy.
- You will be responsible for the development of the strategic business planning and annual execution plans to balance effective use or resources, client expectations, cost and quality.
- You will provide briefings and issue papers on matters of major importance to higher level staffs.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Environmental Engineering (0819) series: This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license with your application package. In addition to the Basic Requirements and Selective Placement Factor (if applying for the 0819 series), your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying mastery of theories, principles, practices, and techniques of environmental engineering, physical science, or community planning to coordinate environmental resources and assessments; 2) Ensuring services and products provided through environmental programs sufficiently protect human health and the environment; 3) Utilizing knowledge of the Navy budgeting process in order to formulate, present, justify, and perform oversight of the budget and expenditures of environmental resources; and 4) Communicating with a wide variety of contacts in order to clarify, interpret, and advise on environmental laws, regulations, policies, and guidance. Pay Range
$114,219.00 - $148,488.00
