Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the Project Management and Engineering Branch of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI.

Major Duties

  • You will supervise and review the work of 6 branch heads, 2 construction managers, 3 engineering techs, and one administrative assistant; schedule work to ensure maximum output with minimum conflict.
  • You will plan, supervise, and direct the accomplishment of in-house architectural and engineering work including plans, specifications, and cost estimates; engineering surveys; and engineering investigations.
  • You will plan, develop, and direct the execution of major repairs and minor construction projects.
  • You will work directly with personnel from the Headquarters Marine Corps to obtain design and construction funding and approvals to accomplish projects.
  • You will prioritize, schedule, and oversee accomplishments of approximately 100 engineering projects annually.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: I am a currently Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) in a State, the District of Colombia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Supervisory Engineer/Architect in providing project management through technical engineering and/or architectural services for facilities management and pre and post-award construction management, overseeing and managing the review and evaluation of engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Contracting Office, and possess engineering/architectural experience required to direct the preparation, review, evaluation, and approval of designs Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:

Pay Range

$76,687.00 - $102,288.00
