Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will provide project management/leadership, including criteria and code interpretation, and training and mentoring, to the project management staff within the component.
  • You will evaluate workload including critical project priorities, deadlines and schedules and assigns manpower and resources to execute projects and accomplish all tasks assigned by higher authority.
  • You will conduct comprehensive reviews and updates of project status for all Capital Improvement work in the branch.
  • You will produce written correspondence regarding project-related topics including status updates and informational briefings.
  • You will provide technical assistance to the Construction Manager in the areas of general engineering and review of contract requirements to make in-scope project/funding/contract determinations.

Qualifications

Selective Placement Factor: This position has a selective placement factor which will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor requires current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (PA) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. (You must submit a current copy of your license). Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provides consultative services on the entire range of architectural and engineering activities for facilities construction from conception to close-out; 2) Reviews engineering proposals, drawings specifications, etc. used in the design, construction, alteration and/or repair of facilities to ensure accuracy; 3) Monitors the use of assigned project resources, including reimbursable project dollars, to determine if the project is tracking as planned or if corrective action(s) should be taken; 4) Provides recommendations for resolving project problems due to design errors, unforeseen conditions, or changes in criteria; and 5) Prepares briefs related to scopes of work, design reviews, contract negotiations, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=GS-PROFhttps://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/files/all-professional-engineering-positions-0800.pdfhttps://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/architecture-series-0808/Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Pay Range

$91,671.00 - $119,176.00
