Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the Public Works Department of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST, China Lake, CA.

Major Duties

  • You will develop fair and equitable performance standards for performance evaluation.
  • You will manage funds and budgets (e.g., Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF), General Fund), to ensure that costs are accounted for and distributed into the correct product and service lines.
  • You will track and report department execution metrics (e.g., targets for planning, design, acquisition, construction, facilities services) on a monthly basis.
  • You will perform constructability reviews of plans and specifications before contract award.

Qualifications

This position has a Selective Placement Factor, which require current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Architect (PA) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Do you meet this requirement? Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advise on and collaborate in the development of short- and long-range plans for meeting organizational goals; 2) Providing engineering oversight and expertise on related engineering science disciplines affiliated with the design and construction of facilities and the building industry; 3) Adjusting work operations and program objectives to meet changing program requirements within available resources with a minimum sacrifice of quality and quantity of work; 4) Applying management principles and concepts with expert abilities in timely accomplishment of objectives within resource constraints and planning, budgeting, implementation, and achievement monitoring; and 5) Using methods and techniques of fact-finding, analysis and resolution of complex problems, and the ability to evaluate and develop concrete action plans to solve engineering program problems. Pay Range

$144,812.00 - $170,800.00
