Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect in the Capital Improvements Business Line within the Integrated Products Team in the of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This is an interdisciplinary position which will be filled by one of the following job series: Fire Protection Engineer (0804), Architect (0808), Civil Engineer (0810), Mechanical Engineer (0830), or Electrical Engineer (0850).
Major Duties
- You will develop and maintain project schedules and budgets to conform with project and customer requirements
- You will develop architectural and engineering project scopes to justify projects and support the mission and operational requirements of an organization.
- You will assess employee work performance to determine if they are meeting established architectural performance objectives. Required
- You will motivate team members to accomplish projects in accordance with command goals and objectives
- You will develop effective solutions to resolve project conflicts revolving around scope, criteria, regulatory requirements, technical architectural-engineering problems, and areas of responsibility.
- You will investigate and recommend corrective measures for difficulties or failures in existing facilities
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates.The selective placement factor is: You must be a current licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge and expertise of engineering fields such as Project Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Specification Writing, Cost Engineering, and Value Engineering to provide leadership and coordination for multidiscipline engineering and support personnel; 2) Supplementing standard practices and adapting techniques to solve and avoid a wide variety of technical engineering and/or architectural issues; 3) Utilizing expertise of NAVFAC facilities and systems acquisition procedures for contracts such as design, construction, environmental, planning, and real estate; and 4) Ensuring Capital Improvements Business Line (CIBL) products and services are delivered in accordance with laws, regulations, and standards. Pay Range
$98,773.00 - $128,402.00
