Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/CHEMIST for NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 10.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Major Duties
- You will establish approaches and priorities according to program objectives.
- You will provide written reports for each waste stream processed showing results, evaluation and interpretation of data and the conclusions.
- You will assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.
- You will interpret analytical data of various industrial and bilge water waste streams which contain substances such as lubricants, greases, oils, aqueous fluids, and chemicals.
- You will manage and approve all plans for maintenance, alteration and upgrade of the treatment facilities.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for the series in which you are applying, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing analysis, identification, and testing of lubricants, greases, oils, aqueous fluids, and related products to resolve complex and/or unprecedented situations that require method modification and development; 2) Applying broad professional knowledge of environmental engineering concepts, principles, practices, and industry codes to oversee the operation, maintenance, and modification of industrial waste/waste water collection and treatment facilities as well as the associated collection systems; 3) Ensuring that environmental concerns related to the storage, treatment, and discharge of waste are properly identified and resolved; 4) Keeping abreast of current Federal and state regulations related to the Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Clean Water Act; 5) Ensuring National Pollutants Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting compliance requirements are met; and 6) Leading and supervising a diverse team of professionals responsible for all aspects of assigned environmental programs. Pay Range
$76,730.00 - $101,903.00
