Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/PHYSICIST/GEOPHYSICIST/OCEANOGRAPHER in the DIRECTOR, ACOUSTICS DEPARTMENT of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Major Duties
- You will directly supervisor a staff of over 50 scientific and technical employees.
- You will plan, implement, coordinate and direct the operations of the Acoustics Department.
- You will be responsible for long-range planning in connection with prospective changes in functions and programs.
- You will implement and manage an integrated end-to-end process for geophysics and acoustic requirements definition, planning, programming, collection, processing, analysis, production and delivery.
- You will participate as a recognized expert in the fields of geophysics and acoustics, in national and international committees and recommend plans and procedures for co-operative programs.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in geophysics and acoustic survey and data processing/analysis techniques to characterize the battle space. Experience providing expert advice to navy operators with an emphasis on Undersea Surveillance and Warfare and Anti-Submarine Warfare. Experience constructing and managing a broad spectrum of activities related to naval warfare, scientific applications and systems analysis, with emphasis on acoustic and geophysical programs. Experience supervising and managing personnel to adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing program or production objectives and performance goals. Pay Range
$126,810.00 - $164,858.00
