Major Duties

The incumbent serves as an Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist (Assistant Field Manager, Resources) for the Casper Field Office and directly reports to the Field Manager. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to assist the Field Manager in providing leadership, supervision, and direction required to implement multiple use and ecosystem management of major resources. Serves as a first level and second level supervisor to a diverse team of professional, scientific, administrative, technical, and clerical staff. Responsible for long term programming and annual budgeting submissions for the Field Office.

As a condition of employment, the incumbent of this position is required to file an annual confidental financial disclosure report.

Physical Demands: The work varies from principally sedentary to field work. Field work involves walking and driving over rough terrain.

Work Environment: Most work is performed in an office setting. Field work may involve remote areas and exposure to a wide range of climatic and topographic situations.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirements:In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the basic education requirement AND the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-11) of the position to be filled. Experience in supervisory duties including but not limited to: personnel management, performance evaluation and management, scheduling and approving leave, and providing leadership, direction, and work assignments to staff. Technical experience with Range, Wildlife and Cultural programs, NEPA. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

Pay Range

$85,860.00 - $111,618.00
