Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Major Duties
- You will provide and make recommendations for personnel actions such as promotions, reassignments, and hiring.
- You will evaluate staff performance; advise, counsel, and provide instruction on both work and administrative matters.
- You will hear and resolve employee complaints; propose, review, and effect disciplinary actions.
- You will identify development and training needs of employees.
- You will promote Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines.
- You will plan and prioritize non-routine work assignments; assign work to subordinates; and ensure employees are fully aware of, and comply with, environmental laws, regulations, and directives.
- You will develop and oversee implementation of and compliance with federal, state, local, and Department of Defense natural resources regulations, directives, policies, and procedures.
- You will development or revise base orders, instructions, and policies with respect to endangered species, National Environmental Policy Act, and Clean Water Act Section 404 issues.
- You will integrate policy and planning with operations oversight, providing expert regulatory consultation and coordination.
- You will represent and negotiate for the Assistant Chief of Staff, Environmental Security, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Commanding Officer in natural resources meetings.
- You will manage range, soil, land restoration, ecological trend monitoring, endangered plant, fairy shrimp, vernal pool, and fire management programs.
- You will develop and modify long-range and annual incremental plans for these programs.
- You will interpret environmental laws and ensure the base is in full compliance.
- You will develop and justify fiscal requirements and control expenditures for contracts in support of these programs.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing, overseeing, and coordinating the implementation of the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP); 2) Developing performance standards and evaluating employee performance; 3) Planning workload, preparing schedules, and assigning work to subordinate employees; 4) Developing and overseeing the implementation of regulations, directives, policies, and procedures. Pay Range
$85,865.00 - $111,629.00
