Job Summary
This position is in the Office of Research and Development, Center for Environmental Solutions and Emergency Response, Groundwater Characterization and Remediation Division. If selected, you must work at the location stated in this announcement. About theOffice of Research and Development.
Major Duties
You will:
- As Deputy Division Director, develop, implement, evaluate, and oversee the division's entire research program to meet programmatic goals;
- Exercise supervisory management responsibilities;
- Ensure the division's research is represented in and responsive to ORD multi-year research plans and goals and within budgetary and funding scopes and/or levels;
- Revise and review the finalized research products and communicate the results to internal and external partners.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
Qualifications
In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as developing research program goals while independently planning or executing a multi-year budget; coaching, leading, and mentoring employees; and communicating research results to partners.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1)Knowledge of research and development objectives; 2)Skill in program management; 3)Ability to coach/mentor employees in order to accomplish the center's research and development program goals; 4)Skill in written communication; 5)Skill in fiduciary planning; 6)Skill in managing research programming; 7)Skill in oral communication.

Pay Range
$126,810.00 - $164,858.00
