MajorDuties
As the SURVEY AID, you will:
- record surveying data, including corner evidence, survey measurement data, and original corner descriptions
- perform mathematical computations required to traverse using conventional survey methods (total stations)
- transport equipment, carry heavy loads, clear trees and brush, dig holes, and hike in rugged terrain in remote and/or isolated locations
- work around aircraft, all-terrain vehicles, motor vehicles, and watercraft
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To be creditable, this experience must have been for 1 year and equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled. (If the position was seasonal, your resume must show periods worked. To qualify for the GS-02 position, you must have Experience: At least 3 (three) months of general work experience which demonstrates my ability to perform the duties of a Surveying Aid. General work experience must demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the duties of a Surveying Aid. OR Education: completed a high school education Combination of Experience and Education: An equivalent combination of general experience and education, as described above. To qualify for the GS-03 position, you must have Experience: At least six (6) months of general experience which demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of a Surveying Aid. OR Education: Successful completion of one year of education above high school which included at least one course in surveying, engineering, industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, forestry, geography, navigation, cartography, physical science, or mathematics. OR Combination of Experience and Education: An equivalent combination of general experience and education, as described above. NOTE: If you are qualifying based partly or completely based on education, you must provide a copy of your transcripts or a list of courses from
an accredited college/university that shows hours and grades.
Pay Range
$27,604.00 - $39,155.00
