House Subcommittee passes NASA Authorization Act of 2014

The House Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Space gave bipartisan approval to the NASA Authorization Act of 2014 (H.R. 4412) on April 9. Subcommittee Chairman Steve Palazzo (R-MS), Ranking Member Donna Edwards (D-MD), Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX), and Committee Ranking Member Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) praised the legislation and a bipartisan amendment introduced by Representatives Palazzo and Edwards. The amendment lays out an “Exploration Roadmap” detailing NASA’s priorities which include sending humans to Mars, developing the Orion crew capsule, and launching the Webb telescope.

The bill will move forward for consideration by the full House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
