Continuing Resolution will fund the federal government through Dec 11

Congress narrowly avoided another government shutdown this September, as lawmakers agreed on a short-term funding bill that will keep the government open at least through mid-December.
The continuing resolution extends current spending levels through December 11 and does not include any of the controversial policy riders wanted by conservatives.
