Congressman Mike Simpson (R-ID) has been appointed as Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development. The Subcommittee funds all functions of the U.S. Department of Energy, the US. Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and other agencies. Simpson was formerly Chairman of the Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee. He will remain a member of the Subcommittee on Interior and the Environment as well as the Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, Labor, and Education.
