Data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey provides monthly occupational employment data to examine changes in geoscience employment over time. The chart shows monthly occupational data from January 2019 through August 2024. Between July 2024 and August 2024, geoscience employment declined overall by 36,676 jobs.
