Karen Paczkowski, the 2015-2016 GSA-USGS Congressional Science Fellow, shared her experiences in the July 2016 Issue of GSA Today. From participating in Congressional Visits Days, her orientation with the other AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellows, to working in Senator Edward J. Markey's office her experiences are to valuable because they engage scientists in the policy making process. There is wealth of opportunity for geoscientists in non-traditional career paths, as well as in research.
