Cover of report on undiscovered copper resourcesThe USGS has released its Spatial database for a global assessment of undiscovered copper resources. As part of the USGS Global Minerals Assessment, this GIS database is an integrated collection of spatial databases which provides location, geologic and mineral resource data, and source references for deposits, significant prospects, and areas permissive for undiscovered deposits of both porphyry copper and sediment-hosted copper.  The data represents the result of standardizing and integrating a wide range of databases on copper developed not  only by the U.S., but also by countries around the world.  The ArcGIS geodatabase is also accompanied by a 40 page PDF report detailing the sources and structure of the database.
