The Association for Women Geoscientists announced that their 2017 field trip will explore California tectonics lead by pioneer of west coast plate tectonics, Tanya Atwater, and accompanied the first few days by Art Sylvester, co-author of Roadside Geology of Southern California (2016). The trip will run from September 23-29, 2017, and will crisscross the San Andreas fault including the intersection of the San Andreas Fault and the Garlock Fault, the Buena Vista Natural History Museum, Carrizo Plain, the Parkfield area, Pinnacles National Park, and the Calaveras Fault at Hollister.
