A New Community Hub

Community is the very heart of AGI’s mission. We represent and serve the geoscience community. And in that way, we serve those all around us.

We are investing in a state-of-the-art renovation of our headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, to better serve our members, partners, and friends. And we’re excited to ring in our 70th anniversary with a state-of-the art facility that will provide a shared resource for the local community as well as for the global geoscience community that AGI serves.

We’ll be throwing open the doors, rolling out the red carpet, and welcoming local friends to take advantage of opportunities. Educational presentations. High-tech demonstrations. Film series. Conferences, meetings, and discussion forums. And, of course, a host of offerings spotlighting the geosciences.

Our renovated headquarters will allow us to benefit the community in many ways. Member societies and local nonprofit groups will be welcome to use our new conferencing space free of charge. We’re embarking on new partnerships and collaborations with government and civic organizations to ensure that AGI is seen — and relied upon — as a community champion.

To secure the promise of tomorrow, we must build on solid bedrock today. You can help by sharing generously of your resources, time, and networks. We hope you’ll join us in our important work at AGI, the heart of this community.
