AGI Past President Rodney Ewing Passes Away

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is saddened to share the news that colleague and friend Dr. Rodney C. Ewing passed away on July 13, 2024. An AGI Past President (2019-2020), Dr. Ewing received the William B. Heroy Jr. Award for Distinguished Service to AGI (2023) for his exceptional and beneficial long-term service to the Institute and the AGI Medal in Memory of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences (2015).
 

David Curtiss and Susan Sullivan Recognized for Service to AGI

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Recognizing exceptional long-term service to the American Geosciences Institute (AGI), two outstanding individuals are named as 2024 William B. Heroy Jr. Award for Distinguished Service to AGI recipients: David Curtiss of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Susan Sullivan of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), University of Colorado, Boulder.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to recognize Dr. Rodney C. Ewing, professor in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences, Stanford Doerr School for Sustainability, as the 2023 recipient of the William B. Heroy Jr. Award for Distinguished Service to AGI, which is given in recognition of exceptional and beneficial long-term service to the Institute.

Rebecca L. Dodge of Midwestern State University Honored for Service to AGI

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to recognize Dr. Rebecca L. Dodge, Professor Emeritus at Midwestern State University, as the 2020 recipient of the William B. Heroy Jr. Award for Distinguished Service to AGI. Dr. Dodge has longstanding ties to AGI's Environmental Program both as a co-author of an Environmental Awareness Series publication and as a member of AGI's former Environment Geoscience Advisory Committee, where she represented the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).
