The National Ground Water Association published a new Washington Update. They reported that the NGWA Regulatory Affairs Officer participated in a White House Roundtable on National Drought Resistance Resilience and discussed the importance of groundwater monitoring and modeling, the National Ground-Water Monitoring Network and infrastructure financing programs.
The Sesimological Society of America is seeking submissions for special sessions for their 2017 Annual Meeting. The deadline to submit is October 1, 2016. They encourage geoscientists to submit a session on cutting-edge research, methodology and technology developments and sessions are encouraged from across the broad fields of earthquake science, geotechnical and earthquake engineering, and seismology.

The American Geosciences Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. Eve S. Sprunt as its President-Elect, Keri A. Nutter as Secretary and Dr. Carolyn Olson as the Member at Large to its 2016-2017 Executive Committee. These distinguished individuals will begin their leadership roles on September 27, 2016 at the Geological Society of America Annual Meeting in Denver.
